Suritah Teresa Wignall

The Invitation

Her Soul is anchored by the stars in the big open sky
guided by the light from the holy deep
She listens to the sweet sounds of the past
she had sagacity, wit, determination – She was ready
But if you stared long enough, you would notice that she didn't come as oneShe was in multiples

Curiosity took over me, so I asked permission to see
of course, she said
She unbuttoned her shirt until the supple of her chest lay bare
An Indigo map began to appear
It wasn't a map of streets or lanes
It was a map of the past, present, future and unknown
The here and out there

Her chest cracked open and there lay inside the gatherers
The gatherer to feel
The gatherer to know
The gatherer of understanding
The gatherer of wisdom
and the gatherer of love
I found myself slowly reaching in to try and grab one
but immediately her chest closed

I looked around and the season changed
It was now Spring
When I turned back to her, she was gone
I was all of a sudden surrounded by Apple Blossoms and Lilacs
I looked down and there was a single Peony
I opened it and there lay inside a note:

The passages of your heart, serves as a landing for all your blessings
This is the invitation
Gather the notes of emotions
they all lead in the direction of love
whisper my name and I will rise before you
for to do the work of the shadows
is doing the work of the sacred
the divine is within
life is glorious
you will see
you already know
But let us continue to show you
