Edward McLaughlin
whether you will or won’t
take off your denim jeans
whether i will or won’t
take off mine
whether you will or won’t
take off your t-shirt
whether i will or won’t
take off mine
the sun’ll come up either way
mine or yours
maybe we’ll fall asleep
just before it reaches us
and my arm will
hold on tighter
my hand will find yours
as the sun makes its way
into our denim jeans
denim jeans
Edward McLaughlin is a Philly native, working and writing in Los Angeles. He tries his best to see the good in those whose shadows interfere with his own and see beauty in everyday occurrences that often go unnoticed. He’s been writing poetry for over 30 years. He has no clue what’s going on, and accepts that happily.
